Loikka is paying it forward ❤️ Take part in the Mesenaatti crowdfunding campaign and offer youths, immigrants or a group of your own choice a chance to attend dance film and virtual reality screenings at Loikka Festival. Loikka will give tickets to different target groups in collaboration with HelsinkiMissio and the Finnish Red Cross.
Tickets for HelsinkiMissio will be delivered to volunteer work in activities aiding young people. The target group is 12-29-year-olds who are in need of a support person. The most common reasons for reaching out to a support person are lack of activities, a need of someone to talk to, family relationship challenges, difficulties in everyday life and facing loneliness. The support persons are over 25-year-old trained volunteers who meet with the youths two to four times a month. By giving out tickets to HelsinkiMissio you are enabling the youths and their support persons to visit Loikka Festival.
Tickets for the Finnish Red Cross will be delivered to volunteer work in aiding social activities with people of all ages as well as integrative activities with immigrants. The volunteers of the Finnish Red Cross offer help and support for people feeling lonely by arranging versatile range of friend agencies for youths, adults and elderly people and by supporting the integration of immigrants in Finland. By giving out tickets to the Finnish Red Cross you are enabling their target groups along with the volunteers to visit Loikka Festival.
With the crowd funding campaign we hope to receive new audiences at Loikka Festival. At the same time we wish to promote dance film and virtual reality pieces and offer a chance for people who normally wouldn’t get to enjoy dance film screenings an access to our festival. Our versatile programme is not bound to language, and therefore it is suitable for a wide audience from youths to families with children and to elderly viewers.

Do you want to take part in creating the 10th Loikka Dance Film Festival? Join our team and become a volunteer!
Loikka is looking for enthusiastic volunteers for versatile tasks in festival production, such as delivering posters, upholding ticket sales and info desk and assisting with multiple tasks in film screenings and the international conference.
This year we are also looking for volunteers to assist with realising the VR programme at Annantalo. As a volunteer you get to work with experts in the field of VR and learn about the different forms and execution of VR experiences. We are looking for volunteers for technical tasks and to uphold the virtual reality works and guide the audience. All the volunteers will be trained for the assignment on April 4th. We require the volunteers to engage for the assignment at least for two days. The volunteers are needed from 3rd to 9th of April, for building and taking down the VR sets as well as assisting with practical tasks during the festival.
As a volunteer at Loikka you get to learn a lot and work in an inspiring atmosphere. In addition to this you are welcome to experience the festival programme and you will receive a letter of reference. Interested? Send an email to email@example.com and tell a bit about your background, previous experience at festivals and of which tasks you are interested in at Loikka. Please let us also know when you are available to volunteer during the festival dates 5 to 8 April or as a VR volunteer 3 to 9 April. Delivering posters will take place already on weeks 12 and 13.
